Smooth Barrier

I’ve tried the Wavytalk Smooth Barrier Heat Protectant Spray on both wet and damp hair, and I’m really impressed with the results. I’ve been using it along with the Wavytalk hair steamer, and every time, my hair comes out looking sleek, smooth, and shiny. The spray has a light, pleasant scent—not overpowering at all—and it leaves my hair feeling soft and healthy instead of dry or weighed down. What I really like is that it provides solid thermal protection without any greasy residue. I’ve noticed zero frizz, even after styling with heat tools, and my hair feels more manageable and less prone to breakage. It seems to create a nice protective barrier that keeps my hair looking polished and healthy all day. Overall, this is a fantastic heat protectant spray that actually delivers on its promises. If you use steamers, blow dryers, or flat irons regularly, this is definitely one to add to your routine.

This is a good heat protectant at a reasonable margin. I love the convenient travel size (yes, it’s safe for flights) and I actually just keep this in my go-bag. You get a better value with the larger bottle if that’s a factor for you but I personally love something mini and portable. It’s got this super fine mist that coats your hair and dries super fast (make sure it’s FULLY dry before starting your heat to avoid “bubble hair”). But my favorite part, the SMELL. It’s a little floral which can be a turn off for some, but to me it smells just like a perfume I used to use way back in high school released in 2008, “Aerie”. It’s not available anymore and this scent just took me right back to that time. LOVE IT!

I have coarse/curly hair, but today I decided to straighten it. My hair was totally dry when I started, and I sprayed this on. It did a nice job of smoothing my hair so I had fewer flyaways, and helped bring my curls into submission to go straight. The smell is also really nice. I can't describe it exactly, but it's light and smells like a nice beauty product.

I can't say for sure whether it's protecting my hair, because that's not the sort of thing you see until after many, many uses, but it seems like it would be protective, too. The spray nozzle is great, and sprays a really fine mist to evenly distribute the product on your hair.

I got the travel-size bottle, which is very pricey per ounce, but it seems like it'll last a reasonable amount of time. Going forward, I would probably buy the bigger size and just refill the travel bottle if I were going out of town.

U have used this Wavy Talk heat protectant spray several times. The bottle sprays a fine mist so it is easy to get an even amount on all of my hair. I really like the scent. After drying the scent is very subtle. I have a sensitive scalp and this has not caused any irritation. That's all good, but my hair is not smooth. See the photo after blow drying. I had more frizz than usual. So I sprayed a bit more and used a flat iron at 450*. My hair did not get as silky smooth. It does give my hair some added fullness which looks nice.

This was a happy surprise, because I didn't know Wavytalk was launching not only hair tools, but also hair products. So, here I have this new heat protectant, and I have used it in three different ways so far. Here are my thoughts:
The bottle comes with 150 ml, all sealed and well protected. I always appreciate a presentation that includes all the ingredients and clear instructions. It says in the box that this formula is applicable to all hair types and it is to be used with all hair tools; promising heat protection up to 450F. I find it very convenient also, because I can use it on dry or wet hair.
I like the dispenser system because it delivers a fine mist that makes it easy to control how much product I put per hair section. I also enjoy the floral scent, that's a plus.
In regards to results:
As a blow dry primer: It is not specified on the instructions whether it can be combined with other products. The first try I did, I had a bit of a mousse on my roots, and some leave-in conditioner down to my ends. I felt it sticky when I applied the Wavytalk mist. The blowout resulted ok, but my hair felt heavy and the frizz was not well controlled. I thought "maybe this one is to be used alone, like Glass hair, from L'ange ". So, I tried again, this time I saturated the damp hair without anything else. Holy shortcut! The blowout time was significantly shorter. But, still, not much difference on the frizz control and yes, it was shiny but nothing extraordinary.
As a flat iron protector: This is definitely my best experience with this formula. I sprayed it onto my dry hair, again, nothing else with it, and the hair came out pin straight and smelling amazing. Noted that it started feeling oily by the 2nd day. Maybe it is my hair, but maybe the key is to put just a little bit of product. Regardless, by the 3rd day, my hair remains super slick and shiny.
I am still playing with it, I haven't tried with a curling iron yet.
In summary, I think it works well, better on naked hair. Shortens my drying time and I prefer it for straightening.

Let’s be clear...this spray is the difference between flat-ironed fabulous and crispy tragedy. I’ve used plenty of “heat protectants” that acted more like light perfume, but this one? She actually guards your hair like a loyal bestie with a blow dryer license.

The scent is clean and subtle (not that fake fruity cloud), it doesn’t weigh hair down, and my ends felt smooth instead of scorched. Works like a charm even on thick, textured hair that normally laughs in the face of heat tools.

If you want your hair to stay silky, hydrated, and not look like it’s been in a toaster, grab this bottle. Worth every spritz.
