You turn it on by turning the dial on the very bottom. The circle lights up with a big, bright blue number (it’s easy to see, even without my glasses). It heats up really quickly! It only took forty-two seconds to heat up to 280F (the lowest setting). All the pink parts of the styler don’t get hot! Not even at the end! I didn’t need to wear gloves and I didn’t burn myself. I love the way the top of the styler is turned out. It makes it really easy to hold. It’s not loud at all! There is a sound, but it’s much much quieter than a hair dryer. The plates are smooth and it was really easy to curl my hair and pull the styler through the length. It’s so fast that I over curled my bangs at first. It doesn’t take very long to curl at all. It straightens quickly, too. The plates are super smooth, so I had to angle the curler. I really love it :) It’s not heavy and it’s just so easy to use! I love the functionality :) I haven’t had it all that long so I can’t speak to it’s durability.It took 15 minutes to get the plates to cool so that I could leave my finger on them. It was 20 seconds until I was comfortable enough to put it away in the vinyl pocket of my over the door organizer.It is dual voltage and double insulated, according to the box and the back of the styler.I love it! Much recommended :)P.S. It doesn’t blow things around on my counter (I put a piece of toilet paper on top of it and the toilet paper didn’t move. I took it right off so it wouldn’t be a fire hazard, though :)). I can feel the air intake on the handle. It was a 360 swivel cord. The cord keeper is velcro and leaves little black things on my counter. It has feet so it doesn’t roll around on the counter.

The current price is $59.99 which is really good compared to another brand that’s very similar to this one. This air styler works really well. I wish the cord swiveled though. It makes it difficult to turn completely it heats up nicely.
This hair tool is so good!! I actually already have another version of one of these air flow curling/flat irons and I had kind of given up using it because it never seemed to work well. This one is amazing. From the first lock of hair I curled, it was such a huge difference. This is so easy to use and fast! The plates are really smooth so it doesn't snag the hair as its pulled through. The curl is set when the hair comes out and the curl really lasts much longer than with other tools.
