Works great for short hair
I have many wavytalk hair care items but not this small .65" pencil airflow cooler styler. I do have the larger version which I think is an inch wide and love it.This barrel is really small and I have used it on my shoulder length hair. It has all the attributes of the larger one like it gets hot fast and it blows cool air thru the little holes . This helps cool the hair and set the style. I usually use it to get some waves or even curl if I pull it down gently to create spiral curls. They are very thin because of the barrel size so you must also use small sections of hair. I find that it takes me longer to do my whole head but the curls are tighter before I give them a fluff with my fingers.Make sure to use a heat glove because you will most likely touch the HOT barrel whether you are using it as a flat iron or curler.I like the styler but I think it might be more well suited for very short hair. It would allow you to add lift and body without the barrel being to large to wrap the hair around it.I think this is a good value for anyone with short hair. For my longer hair I'll probably reach for the larger version to keep the styling time shorter.

WOW! I am a smitten kitten with this purchase. I have watched many Ads on Instagram and finally got my first Wavy Talk purchase! The pencil is FANTASTIC! Why can’t I see visible “smoke” or steam during use?
The Steam Hair Straightener releases steam intermittently. Please make sure the water tank is filled and properly locked, and that the device has reached the selected temperature. When you close the plates, the steam system activates automatically. If the steam seems weak, check whether the steam vents are blocked by mineral buildup.
Does the Steam Hair Straightener leak water? How can I prevent that?
Steam Hair Straightener Water leakage is usually caused by overfilling the tank or not using the dedicated water bottle. We recommend using only distilled water to prevent scale buildup, filling the tank to 80% capacity, and making sure the rubber stopper is pressed in tightly.
What is the difference between Nano Titanium plates and ceramic plates?
Titanium heats up faster and provides a smoother glide, making it especially suitable for coarse, resistant curls, such as 3C/4C hair types. Combined with the steam function, it can complete styling in less time and reduce damage caused by repeated exposure to high heat.
Can I add hair oil to the water tank for use with the device?
No. Please do not add any oils or chemicals to the water tank, as this can damage the steam nozzle.

That sound is caused by moisture being heated and turning into steam, which is completely normal. The steam helps protect moisture inside the hair shaft. As long as you do not leave the device on the same section of hair for too long, it will not burn your hair.
